Class 6A No. 9-ranked Euless Trinity welcomes Midland Lee to town Friday night.

The Trojans feature one of the top players in the country in John Meredith III.

The junior cornerback is the No. 5 recruit in the Class of 2027, according to 247Sports. He’s the No. 1 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 recruit in Texas.

He currently has 40 offers and will go wherever he wants when he decides.

Out of 100 on 247Sports Composite, Meredith III has a score of .99986.

That means he’s pretty damn good.

The Trojans also have a pair of current D-I recruits.

Offensive lineman Pupunagatoa Katoa is committed to SMU. Running back Juntavious “JT” Harris is headed to Texas State.

The two teams met twice last year, with Trinity winning in Week 2, 63-45 and then winning in the playoffs, 52-22.

What to know?

Midland Lee was actually Midland Legacy last year. The board of education voted to return to Midland Lee in August, according to an article on the Texas Tribune. The name change takes effect in the 2026-27 school year, but the Rebels have helmets that say Lee in this game.

The high school was named after Robert E. Lee, but was changed 5 years ago.

FORT WORTH, Texas, August 12, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fort Worth-based Corinth Land Co. has further strengthened its North Texas industrial portfolio with the acquisition of the South Airport Circle Business Park, located at 1131 South Airport Circle, Euless, TX 76040. The 19,000 square-foot, multi-tenant industrial flex property is fully leased and marks Corinth’s third acquisition in the Euless area.

The transaction closed on August 1, 2025 with financing provided by Tim Whitlock at Pinnacle Bank of Cleburne and equity from Corinth Land Co.

"This acquisition represents a strategic expansion of our industrial flex portfolio in Euless, where we already maintain a substantial presence," commented Danny Peters, broker of record for Corinth Land Co. "The property was sourced off-market, allowing us to secure a fully stabilized, multi-tenant asset in one of the most supply-constrained infill submarkets in the DFW region. Opportunities of this caliber rarely come to market, so we appreciate our strong local relationships that were instrumental in making this transaction possible."

The South Airport Circle Business Park is located just minutes from DFW International Airport and offers immediate access to major transportation corridors, making it a prime location for industrial tenants seeking proximity and convenience.

The acquisition underscores Corinth’s strategic focus on high-performing submarkets across North Texas. Founded in 2006 by Paun Peters, the company initially specialized in oil and gas surface sites and easements in the Barnett Shale before pivoting to commercial and residential real estate investments across Texas and North America.

"This was a highly calculated addition to our portfolio. The asset’s infill location and stabilized tenancy align perfectly with our long-term investment strategy in Euless, where we’ve built significant operational scale," said Corinth Land Co President Paun Peters. "Integrating this property enhances our operational efficiency and market momentum. We acted quickly to capitalize on an off-market opportunity that complements our existing footprint."

Texas high school football is getting underway, and last night featured a prime matchup between defending state champion North Crowley and Trinity Euless in the first official scrimmage of the fall. With multiple five-star prospects and a lot of young talent on display, there were plenty of eyes on a wide range of players. Here’s the latest intel and notes on some of the top talent in the state of Texas.

When it comes to premier talent in Texas’ incoming junior class, the first name that comes to mind is 2027 Euless (TX) Trinity five-star cornerback John Meredith III — and for good reason.

A consensus top-10 prospect nationally, Meredith has the size, instincts, and skill set to develop into an elite defensive back, not just at the college level, but potentially in the NFL one day.

The premier defensive back prospect already holds offers from nearly every major program in the country, but sources indicate Texas A&M has captured some early momentum in his recruitment.

Coaches on hand last night raved that he’s the kind of player who could step in and contribute to any program right away. Texas is also pushing hard, and this one has the early makings of another high-profile Lone Star State battle.

2026 Euless (TX) Trinity three-star offensive lineman and SMU commit Pupungatoa Katoa was a prospect who unexpectedly caught my eye while I was there last night.

Texas A&M offered early and kept in touch, intrigued by his potential on the interior, but SMU ultimately stood out the most in his recruitment. He projects as a more than serviceable piece for the Mustangs up front in the future.

We all saw what North Crowley accomplished last season, with a 16-0 run with wins over DeSoto, Duncanville, Westlake, Allen, and several other state powerhouses on the way to a title, but the talent stands out even more when you see it up close.

2026 North Crowley (TX) four-star offensive lineman and Texas pledge John Turntine continues to show why he’s my favorite offensive lineman in the state. Whether he ends up playing tackle full-time in Austin or slides inside, he projects as a highly productive piece up front.

I caught up with him post-game, and while he admitted the Aggies were high on his list before committing, his trust in Texas OL coach Kyle Flood ultimately sealed the deal. He doesn’t plan to take any additional visits at the moment, though it didn’t seem like that door is completely closed just yet.

They also have a pair of impressive safeties in 2026 North Crowley (TX) three-star and Texas Tech commit Aaron Bradshaw and 2027 North Crowley (TX) three-star Texas A&M offer Elijajuan Houston, who go together really well.

Bradshaw stood out thanks to a rare blend of athleticism and mobility that pairs seamlessly with his impressive size — and if he’s not on the field, odds are he’s standing on a bench somewhere. Several coaches raved about him to me this week, and it’s easy to see what Joey McGuire and his staff recognized in him.

North Crowley also features a pair of Texas A&M offers at receiver in 2028 prospects Hayden Green and Damarion Mays.

Both made strong impressions, but Mays has already been mentioned as an early candidate to be the top receiver in his class. While Texas A&M has his attention, I get the sense Texas is in a strong position early with him eyeing another visit sometime this season. Oregon and LSU are the two programs he’s still waiting on an offer from, and both would be major factors in his recruitment.

Green, meanwhile, is an intriguing target with elite size for the position, moving between wide receiver and tight end depending on the package. His recruitment is starting to pick up, and he has the tools to be another standout offensive weapon down the line. A visit to College Station is something he’d like to make happen this season.

ESPN’s “SportsCenter” is bringing a national spotlight to Texas high school football.

As part of the 50 States in 50 Days tour, “SportsCenter” anchors will attend a scrimmage between North Crowley and Euless Trinity at Crowley ISD Stadium in Fort Worth on Thursday. Varsity kickoff is slated for 7 p.m., and the junior varsity will start at 5 p.m.

With the tour, ESPN is highlighting a mix of iconic venues, “hometown hidden gems” and culturally significant events. The tour showcases a mix of live on-site shows and storytelling segments.

North Crowley, the 2024 Class 6A Division I state champion, will represent Texas under the national spotlight. ESPN anchor Hannah Storm will be in attendance and will broadcast live from 5 to 6 p.m. CDT.

North Crowley head coach Ray Gates, senior offensive lineman John Turntine III and Texas Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will join the show.

“It is an honor,” Gates said. “We don’t take this lightly. There are a lot of worthy teams in the state of Texas. With this 50 States in 50 Days tour, they could have chosen anybody. And they called us and they wanted us to represent the state of Texas. That was an awesome phone call.”

Euless Trinity, ranked No. 14 in 6A by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, is a worthy opponent with tons of high-profile talent to showcase, including junior five-star defensive back John Meredith III. Trinity head coach Aaron Lineweaver said it’s a great opportunity for the athletes, the program and HEB ISD.

“They deserve [the national spotlight], and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get on ‘SportsCenter,’” Lineweaver said. “I don’t think they know how big it is. One day they’ll look back and know it was pretty special to play for Trinity.”

Gates said the event will benefit everyone involved, and he emphasized that it’s an excellent opportunity for Crowley ISD.

“It’s an awesome opportunity to showcase all that we’re doing,” Gates said. “Not just in football, but also the new groundbreaking indoor track facility that we’re building. All of the new construction that is happening on our campus and on Crowley’s campus. We are blazing a path on this side of the Metroplex — not only in athletics but academics as well.”
